Welcome to TIF

Tuscaloosa International Friends (TIF) is a community organization committed to fostering cross-cultural connections. We pair incoming international students with welcoming Local Friends in the Tuscaloosa area. Our goal is to facilitate enriching experiences where both parties can gain deeper insights into each other's backgrounds and traditions.

For international students studying at The University of Alabama, Stillman College, or Shelton State Community College, TIF offers a gateway to understanding Alabama and the broader United States, while Local Friends in the Tuscaloosa area have the opportunity to embrace diverse cultures firsthand.

Participating in TIF is more than just joining an organization; it's about extending a hand of friendship. You don't need to speak a foreign language, and the students don't live with you. Our primary aim is to support international students as they navigate life in Tuscaloosa by fostering meaningful connections with Local Friends.
